Abstract
Objetivo: Evaluar la actividad antibacteriana del extracto etanólico de las hojas de Sambucus nigra (sauco) frente a Staphylococcus aureus. Método: Fue aplicada, prospectiva, experimental, la muestra se obtuvo del distrito de Huambos - Cajamarca, 500gr de hojas, se maceraron en etanol de 70° por 8 días y se determinó la actividad antibacteriana mediante difusión en pozo. Resultados: el extracto etanólico al 100% obtuvo un halo de inhibición promedio de 16,65 + 0,46mm; al 50% de 15,44 + 0,32mm, el control positivo (ciprofloxacino) fue 22,94 + 0,38mm y control negativo (etanol) de 6,01 + 0,28mm. Conclusión: Los extractos al 100% y 50% del extracto etanólico de las hojas de Sambucus nigra (sauco) presenta actividad antibacteriana frente a Staphylococcus aureus
