Autoestima y autopercepción de salud bucodental en adultos mayores con prótesis dentales del Puesto de Salud La Esperanza - Chilca, 2024.

Abstract

El objetivo es determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de autoestima y la autopercepción de salud bucodental en adultos mayores con prótesis dentales del puesto de salud La Esperanza-Chilca, 2024. Como método se utilizó diseño no experimental, correlacional. La muestra se seleccionó mediante un diseño probabilístico y fue constituida por 284 adultos mayores. Los resultados, se hallaron que el nivel de autoestima fue alto en un 59,2% y que 23,6% tiene una autoestima baja y sobre la variable autopercepción de salud bucodental se halló que fue baja en un 87,3% y solo el 2,5% alta. Conclusión, a mayor autoestima, menor es la percepción negativa sobre la salud bucodental en adultos mayores con prótesis dentales del Puesto de Salud La Esperanza – Chilca, evidenciando una relación negativa moderada (Rho = -0.613; p = 0.000).

The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of self-esteem and the self-perception of oral health in older adults with dental prostheses at the La Esperanza-Chilca health post, 2024. The method used was a non-experimental, correlational design. The sample was selected by means of a probabilistic design and consisted of 284 older adults. The results showed that the level of self-esteem was high in 59.2% and 23.6% had low self-esteem, and the variable self-perception of oral health was found to be low in 87.3% and only 2.5% high. Conclusion, the higher the self-esteem, the lower the negative perception of oral health in older adults with dental prostheses in the La Esperanza - Chilca Health Post, showing a moderate negative relationship (Rho = -0.613; p = 0.000).
