Polifarmacia con relación al tratamiento de las Infecciones Respiratorias Agudas en Adultos Mayores atendidos en la Botica Ahorrofarma Lima 2025

Abstract

La investigación tiene por objetivo identificar la relación entre la polifarmacia con el tratamiento de las infecciones respiratorias agudas en adultos mayores atendidos en la Botica Ahorrofarma Lima 2025. La metodología fue un estudio básico, enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y de nivel correlacional. La población fue 450 usuarios y la muestra fue 207 usuarios adultos mayores. En los resultados se encontró dentro de los datos de polifarmacia se evidenció que el 44,9% presentaron pruritos, rash cutáneo como reacción adversa a los antibióticos, el 37,7% se automedicaron con antibióticos por recomendación de personal de farmacia. En conclusión, no existe relación entre la polifarmacia con el tratamiento de las infecciones respiratorias agudas, p=0,482 > 0,05

The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between polypharmacy and the treatment of acute respiratory infections in older adults treated at Botica Ahorrofarma Lima 2025. The methodology was a basic study with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional, and correlational level. The population consisted of 450 users, and the sample consisted of 207 older adult users. The results showed that among the polypharmacy data, 44.9% presented pruritus and skin rash as an adverse reaction to antibiotics, and 37.7% self-medicated with antibiotics on the recommendation of pharmacy staff. In conclusion, there is no relationship between polypharmacy and the treatment of acute respiratory infections, p=0.482 > 0.05.
