Abstract
The study aimed to determine the relationship between frailty and quality of life among older adults in the Hospital II Pasco program in 2026. Methodology: This was a basic, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 67 older adults, who also constituted a census sample. Data were collected via surveys, using the Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS) to measure frailty and the WHOQOL-OLD questionnaire to assess quality of life. Results: 26.9% of the older adults exhibited moderate frailty, 23.9% showed no frailty, 22.4% presented mild frailty, 20.9% were classified as vulnerable, and 6% presented severe frailty. Regarding quality of life, a high level predominated (76.1%), while 23.9% showed a moderate quality of life. Inferential analysis yielded a Spearman correlation coefficient of Rho = 0.234 and p = 0.057, indicating a positive, low-magnitude relationship between the two variables that did not reach statistical significance. Conclusion: It was determined that there is no statistically significant relationship between frailty and quality of life among older adults in the Hospital II Pasco program in 2026 (Rho = 0.234; p > 0.05).
