Abstract
The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the implementation of biosafety measures among nursing professionals at the Hospital de Pampas, in Tayacaja, Huancavelica, during 2025. A basic, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The census sample consisted of 30 nursing professionals, selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Two validated instruments were used: a questionnaire to assess the level of knowledge and an observation guide to evaluate biosafety practices. It was found that the predominant level of knowledge was "medium," with 22 participants, representing 73.3% of the sample. Regarding practices, 83.3% of the professionals—that is, 25 individuals—fell into the "adequate" category. Spearman’s rho test yielded a coefficient of 0.454, with a statistical significance of p = 0.012. These results demonstrate a positive, moderate, and statistically significant relationship between the two variables. It is concluded that a higher level of knowledge is associated with better biosafety practices among the personnel evaluated. Therefore, the study's alternative hypothesis is accepted.
