Abstract
The objective was to determine the relationship between risk factors and nutritional status among older adults attending a public health center in Concepción in 2024. The methodology consisted of a basic study with a non-experimental, correlational design. The population comprised 440 older adults, from which a sample of 205 was selected using simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted through interviews, using an interview guide as the instrument. The results showed that 66.8% of the participants were at risk of malnutrition. Using the chi-square (χ²) test, a relationship was identified with age (p = 0.000), gender (p = 0.004), marital status (p = 0.018), and educational level (p = 0.004). Furthermore, a relationship was found with cognitive status (p = 0.000) and affective status (p = 0.007). In conclusion, it was determined that there is a relationship between risk factors and nutritional status among older adults attending a public health center in Concepción in 2024.
