Abstract
La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el efecto antimicótico in vitro del extracto hidroalcohólico de hojas de Verbena officinalis L. frente a Trichophyton sp. Se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo experimental y nivel explicativo. La muestra estuvo constituida por el extracto hidroalcohólico de hojas de Verbena officinalis L. a concentraciones de 50 %, 75 % y 100 %, evaluado mediante difusión en agar por pozos, utilizando fluconazol como control positivo. El tamizaje fitoquímico evidenció alcaloides, flavonoides, resinas y aminoácidos libres en alta intensidad (+++), además de otros metabolitos secundarios. El análisis mediante ANOVA y Tukey evidenció diferencias significativas (p < 0,05). Se concluye que el extracto presentó actividad antimicótica in vitro frente a Trichophyton sp., siendo el 100 % la concentración más efectiva, aunque inferior al fluconazol.
The objective of this research was to determine the in vitro antifungal effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Verbena officinalis L. leaves against Trichophyton sp. A quantitative, experimental, and explanatory approach was used. The sample consisted of the hydroalcoholic extract of Verbena officinalis L. leaves at concentrations of 50%, 75%, and 100%, evaluated by well diffusion on agar, using fluconazole as a positive control. Phytochemical screening revealed high concentrations (+++) of alkaloids, flavonoids, resins, and free amino acids, as well as other secondary metabolites. Analysis using ANOVA and Tukey's test showed significant differences (p < 0.05). It was concluded that the extract exhibited in vitro antifungal activity against Trichophyton sp., with the 100% concentration being the most effective, although less effective than fluconazole.
