Abstract
The research is of applicative/transversal type as experimental design. The objective of the research is to analyze the phytochemical characteristics and antibacterial effect of Borrago officinalis (Borage) extracts. Three extracts were obtained from Borage flowers: ethereal, ethanolic and aqueous. Phytochemical tests were performed on each extract with staining and precipitation reagents and microbiological assay. The results of the extracts showed the presence of secondary metabolites such as phenolic compounds, flavonoids and tannins. The ethereal extract presented inhibition halos 19.52, ethanolic extract 21.54, aqueous extract 15.35, ciprofloxacin 25.68.
