Abstract
The study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and complementary feeding practices for children aged 6 to 24 months receiving care at the Ahuac–Chupaca Health Center in 2026. It was a basic, quantitative study with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The study population and sample consisted of 48 mothers. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and processed with IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Pearson’s correlation was used for the global variables, while Spearman’s correlation was used for the specific dimensions. Results showed that 58.3% of the mothers had a moderate level of knowledge, and 60.4% demonstrated fair practices. A positive, moderate, and significant relationship was found between the two variables (r = 0.624; p < 0.001). It was concluded that higher maternal knowledge was associated with more appropriate complementary feeding practices; thus, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the research hypothesis was accepted.
