Abstract
El estudio evaluó el efecto antidiarreico del extracto hidroalcohólico de Zingiber officinale en ratones albinos. Se realizó un estudio experimental con diseño analítico, prospectivo y transversal, utilizando un modelo de tránsito intestinal inducido con carbón activado. 30 ratones BALB/c fueron distribuidos en cinco grupos: control negativo, control positivo con loperamida (1 mg/kg) y tres dosis de extracto (100, 200 y 400 mg/kg) administradas por vía oral. Los resultados mostraron una disminución dosis-dependiente de la motilidad intestinal, siendo la dosis de 400 mg/kg la más efectiva, cercana al efecto de la loperamida, con diferencias significativas (p < 0,05), concluyendo que el extracto tiene un efecto antidiarreico significativo como alternativa natural para tratar la diarrea.
This study evaluated the antidiarrheal effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Zingiber officinale in albino mice. An experimental study with an analytical, prospective, and cross-sectional design was conducted using an activated charcoal-induced intestinal transit model. Thirty BALB/c mice were divided into five groups: a negative control, a positive control with loperamide (1 mg/kg), and three doses of the extract (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg) administered orally. The results showed a dose-dependent decrease in intestinal motility, with the 400 mg/kg dose being the most effective, approaching the effect of loperamide, with significant differences (p < 0.05). The study concluded that the extract has a significant antidiarrheal effect as a natural alternative for treating diarrhea.
