Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la dieta cariogénica y la prevalencia de la caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años de IEI N° 96 Virgen María de Fátima, Callao - 2023. El estudio fue cuantitativo, nivel relacional, diseño observacional y transversal, la muestra estuvo conformada por 55 niños. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de los niños consumen dietas con niveles cariogénicos altos (76,4%) y moderados (20,0%). Respecto a la prevalencia de caries dental en los niños se encontró una prevalencia de nivel moderada con un 47,4% y alto con un 43,6%. Concluyendo que existe una relación significativa, directa y de intensidad baja entre la dieta cariogénica y la prevalencia de la caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años (p= 0,017; Rho=0,322).
