Abstract
The study aims to determine the level of compliance with technovigilance practices and safety in the use of medical devices among healthcare personnel at a tertiary-level health center in Lima during 2025. It employed a quantitative, applied, and observational approach, using a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 109 participants who completed a structured questionnaire to assess compliance with technovigilance practices, institutional factors, and the occurrence of adverse incidents. The results showed that the predominant level of technovigilance was low (56.9%), as was the level of safety regarding the use of medical devices (53.2%), revealing deficiencies in the reporting, traceability, verification, and supervision of the use of health technologies. Furthermore, a significant, moderate-to-strong negative correlation was found between the level of technovigilance and the occurrence of adverse incidents (ρ = −0.612; p < 0.001), indicating that greater compliance with these practices reduces the frequency of incidents and enhances safety for hospitalized patients.
