Abstract
The study aimed to determine the relationship between academic stress and gastric symptoms among students at Franklin Roosevelt Private University in Huancayo. A basic, quantitative, correlational study with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design was conducted. The sample consisted of 213 students selected via convenience sampling. Data were collected using the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory and a questionnaire on gastric symptoms. The results showed a positive, moderate, and significant relationship between the two variables (ρ = 0.684; p < 0.001). Additionally, 67.1% of the students exhibited a moderate level of academic stress, and 51.2% showed a moderate level of gastric symptoms. It was concluded that higher levels of academic stress were associated with a greater presence of gastric symptoms, whereas coping strategies were linked to a lower incidence of these symptoms. Therefore, strengthening prevention and support initiatives is considered important for improving student well-being.
